had my appointment on Monday and unfortunately my little man is frank breech at the moment...we're waiting until my next appointment to see if he's moved at all, if not, then i have to schedule a c-section!
Definitely NOT what I had planned...any other mommies out there have breech babies?
What are you doing to try and turn the baby? My hubby is against EVC since my doctor said that it could cause fetal distress and they would have to do an emergency c-section if that happened.
Re: 36 weeks and breech! :(
We are in the same boat. We are going on Friday for another ultrasound to see if he's flipped, but it doesn't feel like he has to me. They said we need to make a decision to opt for the ECV or schedule a c-section at that time. I'm really torn on what to do!
I have a friend who is a chiropractor and she said that there is something called the Webster Technique, I believe. She highly recommends it, but I don't know much about it at all. Might be worth looking into.
yea, so far i'm looking into "non-medical" techniques to try and turn the baby, no risk to the baby and if it works, great.
so pelvic tilting & a bag of frozen peas at the top of the uterus to try and get baby to head south!
Good luck to you ladies who are in the same boat...!!
My baby has been breech for a while, and I hoped he/she would turn, but today, my OB gave me "the talk" and now I have to make a decision too. One thing she did tell me about was a Chinese acupuncture type thing called Moxibustion/ Cupping. She said she is not at all an advocate for these types of treatment, however, it worked for another patient.
I think it involves daily treatments and bunch of walking... I don't know what to think either.
Our baby was breech at 34 weeks and then flipped to head down by my 36 week ultrasound. My guess is she flipped around 34.5 weeks.
I tried lots of at-home techniques to encourage her to flip, including pelvic rocking with ice strapped to my upper belly. I'm not sure if she flipped on her own or if the techniques helped but she did end up flipping to head down. It's worth a try!
I just had a successful ECV, and thought it wasn't as bad as it can sound. There is a lot more to it than I thought, but baby was never distressed and it only caused me to have contractions for a little while afterward.
Still pregnant, baby is doing great, and she's head down! So, no surgery for us. I'd be happy to share more specifics with you just to give you the information from someone's point of view who has had it done.
It's not an easy decision to make, that's for sure! Good luck!
My son is breech as well and very high up. So CS for me.
My little boy is breech and we are having a c/s in about 10 days.
My doctor's office offered to do an ECV, but we opted not to. Not judging anyone who does, though. I felt like it was too much stress for baby and for me. I also felt like forcing him to turn was making the birth more about me than him. We just want him here safe and sound (as we all do), and if he's comfy and a c/s is what I have to do, then I'm fine with it.
Missed m/c 11.09 | Missed m/c 3.10 | We miss you & love you so.

My baby was breech at my 37 week appt on Monday so we scheduled a version to flip her. I went in this morning to do it and she was in the head down position! So you never know, your baby just may turn!
Good luck!
