Trying to Get Pregnant

Do you have a short LP?

Mornin' ladies!

QQ

I believe I have a shortER lp. Not that it is below normal though. (11 days) My Dr. said we would discuss it during my visit in May.

Has anyone talked with their Drs about this? If so what was the solution or advice from your Dr?

Thanks so much!

Re: Do you have a short LP?

  • My LP is usually 11 days but I typically start spotting at 10 DPO and my temps usually go down around 10 DPO also.  This month has been very different thought and I don't know what the heck is going on!  I haven't talk to my doctor about it yet as I just started acupuncture and want to see if that helps.  Alot of ladies take B6 to try to lengthen it.  GL!  Let us know what your doctor says when you discuss in May.

  • My LP was around 10-11 days and when I talked to my OB about it she said to call when I got my BFP and she'd put me on progesterone supplements.

On my own I tried some natural techniques to help lengthen it.

  • I do-ish. I was 9-10 days previously though this cycle I am at 15DPO with no AF in sight and a couple BFNs.

I don't think I Oed when FF told me I did -- but I stopped temping after I got a confirmed O so I don't know for sure.  I have my annual next month and I am going to ask my Doc about it. I have also been taking a b-complex everyday as well.

Much love to all of my magical ladies.

  • My LP was about 11 days as well. My Dr. said it wasn't too short but told me I could take 50mg of B6 to lengthen it. I combined the B6 with B12 also and it helped my LP lengthen to 13 days.

  • My LP was 9 days.  I was worried and had planned on talking with my doctor about it, but I managed to get a BFP anyway... so here's hoping it won't be a barrier for you, either.  It never hurts to discuss with your doctor to see if taking a B6 vitamin regimen or extra progesterone supplements past O would help.

I don't post over here anymore but I have to tell you I gave myself a lot of anxiety over my short LP (8-9 days) and my Dr. told me not to worry bc I could still get pregnant. Well, I did.

I just wanted to give you some hope, because honestly I got myself so worked up over this and would have loved to hear from someone who had a short LP and got pregnant.

  • Thanks so much ladies!!!
  • I just went to the dr Monday (regarding my extrememly short LPs- less than 10 days) and she prescribed progesterone.  Also, I am taking b6 (100mg, 1x/day.)

Hey Stephanie: Thanks for butting in! Really. Congrats, that's fantastic!

So, when you got your BFP, did you see your Dr. right away? I've heard some women who get a BFP despite short LP get their progesterone levels checked, and sometimes take supplements.

Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).

    Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3

  • I'm concerned I do. Not worried or anything, just information-gathering at this point. My cycles are generally 25-26 days so I figured I would O on about day 11-12. Then I started temping again and FF has me all over the *** place so I'm confused. I'm taking the sit back and observe approach for now because we are not yet TTC (but soon!). I have started adding in other physical factors daily to FF to see if that helps clarify.

I called my Dr. but he wasn't concerned, just like he was never concerned about my LP to begin with. He said if I had well times intercourse for 6 months and wasn't PG we'd worry, but I got pregnant quickly. No supplements or anything, and so far so good! I guess it depends on your Dr. though, mine appears to be quite laid back.
