So I'm starting to gather all the clothes we have been accumulating for LO and I'm ready to start washing!!! yay!!! OK, why am I excited about doing laundry? lol anyway, my Q this: should I wash all of it or just the NB/0-3 mo stuff? We have gotten even 18-24 stuff that I am not washing right now, plus it's only very few items, but most of it is 0-12 mo clothes, what do you think, do all his laundry now?
Re: washing all his clothes?
I just did NB up through 0-3 mos. I even left some of the larger 3 mos alone for now. I'm keeping tags on the older clothes to wait and see how quickly she grows and to make sure the warmer weather clothes are climate-appropriate.
The Baby Blog.
I washed everything. DH is hanging a second rack for clothes in the closet (it's really deep because it's over a stairwell). So the little clothes go in the front and the big clothes in the back. The 0-6 month onesies and pants go in a drawer and the 6-12 month ones go in a bin in the closet. Then I got some 18m-3year hand me downs (awesome condition- would have cost me about $500 new) and they are going in boxes in the storage room but have also been washed and sorted.
I figure I have the time right now, so why not?
I've washed hardly anything because frankly... people bought too many clothes.
I have about 8 onesies and 2 "out and about" outfits washed, the rest are sitting with their tags on because if she grows out of them too fast or there's just too many clothes, they're going to the used baby clothes store at a higher sell value.
As a friend of mine put it, "you got hit with having your first baby and it's a girl". That translates to people buying you clothes you don't want/need or even in some cases like
This, exactly.
Mmmm...cake!
