A ballet school drop out. LOL. Very Grease of her, no? LOL. I am not sure what happened. She has been going to ballet at her school/daycare once a week for months now and always seemed to enjoy it. Suddenly she decided that she no longer wants to go and refuses. I asked her why and she says its because all of her friends cannot go and she wants the boys to do ballet, too. Sophia plays with the boys in her class a lot - so this made me laugh. But how annoying for me! LOL. Just when they were gearing up to their first recital and I would see the result of the $50 a month I have been paying. She refuses to go back. I cannot convince her.
::::sigh::::
I did asked the ballet teacher and she says she has no idea what made her change her mind. That she was very good and followed directions and seemed to always have fun. Ballet is in the other building, the pre-school side, so I wonder if once she moves over in June she will be more interested in going back. Fingers crossed!
Re: My kid is a drop out!
Ugh! Right before the recital! Can you convince her to at least show off all her hard work for the recital and then she can quit?
First thing that comes to mind is that one of the other kids said something about ballet that turned her off to it. But, it could simply be kids being kids and changing their mind about what they like. I was always into something new every few weeks or so, but my mom made me stick to certain things, like dance, b/c I was just being fickle.

Aye Mel- your daughter has a mind of her own!!! I wouldn't push the topic too much on her. Miss Sophia has obviously made up her big girl mind and there is nothing you can say that will put her back in ballet! lol....
I agree with Lauren, we waited until Gaby was 5/ 6 years old to put her in anything b/c kids her age loose interest too fast, especially if they do the same routine ALL the time. In fact, after Gaby's winter recital she didn't want to go back b/c she wanted to do something new! So we will wait to see what she comes up with or we will put her in soccer or maybe another form of dance (Jazz, Tap, etc).
