Anyone have experience with Child Time daycares?

Good, bad, ugly... Anyone heard anything, or have experience with a Child Time daycare? I guess a few kids from our daycare are moving over to this one, so I thought I'd see if anyone has personal experience. I've looked to see if they have had any issues/infractions, but it's always nice to get some personal experience.

Re: Anyone have experience with Child Time daycares?

  • My sd was at one on the west side and it seemed to be a really great place.

  • I have not heard good things.  A friend of a friend of mine had her baby at one (whichever one is closest to Mason-Montgomery?) and had a HORRIBLE experience.  The safety of the child was the issue and legal action was threatened (not sure if they pursued it or not).  One of the family's at my center toured one and was not impressed. I don't know how many Child Times there are or their exact locations but it would have been one near Tylersville or Western Row?
  • I haven't heard such great things about it, either. Kate (from high school) was going to send her girls there, then went on an unannounced visit while on maternity leave and said hell no.

  • I send dd to the one in the scripps building (3rd and walnut) and have had a really good experience.  I go in announced every day at different times because I don't have a set lunch schedule.  It is clean and they take really good care of my daughter.  I don't know if I'll stay through preschool because I don't know if it is as educational as I want.  Also, they don't do anything fancy like teach your kid how to do sign language.

They also provide all of the food which for us at this point is just purees.  I might start packing when she gets older because it seems a lot like school lunches for the older kids.

When I was looking at different options, I did look at the one in the federal building (main street) and didn't like it as much as the walnut street center.  It doesn't have any parking and you have to go through security to get to the center (imagine with all of the stuff you have doing that every day)

It is pretty pricy and sometimes I'm tempted to look across the river at options in newport because I've heard they're cheaper.

Those are all of my random thoughts!

  • Thanks ladies!

  • I just want to add that I meant to type I go UN-announced.  I tried to edit the post but it didn't change.
