Veggie babies

Does anyone have any good recs on vegetarian parenting books, sites or blogs?

As well, thank you so much to those that responded to my post regarding feeding the munchkins solid food - I could't log in from my Ipad ( snarl ) and by the time I could login from my laptop the post was already too buried to respond properly.

Re: Veggie babies

  • I don't know about vegetarian books or blogs but if you don't get any other responses, you could at least check out the website www.weelicious.com.  It's not a vegetarian blog but a lot of the recipes seem to be vegetarian so it might be a good place to look for at least some ideas.  Hope that helps some!

  • There is a book called New Vegetarian Baby - I saw it at the book store but did not get a chance to thumb through it . We are also vegetarians but our babies are still cooking themselves so I figure I have a while to worry about this

We have this book  The Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook: Whole food to nourish pregnant women and breastfeeding women and their families
    - We like it but not sure if some of the things are appropriate for  a baby ?

  • my guys dont like meat (which is fine with me- I'm a reduced meat eater) but there are so many protien options out there. veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, chi'k nuggets, beans, peanut butter, cheese, even peas have protein.

i asked my dr about it and she said the only thing she might worry about is iron. so i put spinach on their pizzas (in the sauce) and they eat it right up. I'm not sure what your specific concern is, but a varied veggie based diet should get them everything they need. I would worry about vit. D if they weren't drinking milk too.
