Our little guy, Wyatt Brooks, was born at 4:01 am Monday morning after a relatively short labor. He was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long and is beautiful
Our short birth story:
Wyatt was due Friday, and I was starting to get impatient, but Sunday was nice, as we got to go to Palm Sunday at Church (Mattea was able to sing songs with the Sunday School classes in front of the church). We then went to my parent's house, so no boredom like the day before
Just before we left, at 6pm, I had bloody show. We then left my parents and I had very slight contractions (a little more painful than BH, but not a big deal at all) about 10 min apart for awhile. Around 9:45, I realized my water had broken, and soon after my contractions started picking up, so we called my parents to come and watch Mattea. By the time they got there, contractions were under 2 min apart and we left directly for the hospital (arriving around 12:30). At the hospital, we did the typical tests, then after my IV was hooked up (I was GBS+) we went for a walk. We got back from the walk, and I sat on the ball for a little bit, listening to my labor mix for a few songs until I decided it was time for the tub. Right around the time I got in the tub, the contractions got pretty intense and my midwife told me it looked like I was in transistion. I stayed in the tub until I had the urge to push and soon after that, I was on the bed pushing our little guy out. It only took 15 minutes of pushing before we met our beautiful little guy. He was so alert and perfect!

I love Jessica Peterson. She captures birth so beautifully. And I love the name Wyatt. It has been on my mind a lot lately (because I am convinced that when we do get pregnant again, it's going to be another boy!)
Congratulations. He is a gorgeous, alert little mister. And you look radiant and beaming.
The only Easter Bunny I can get behind.
