Two Under 2

Already feel I don't know what to do w/ a newborn.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and DS is almost a year old. I held my cousin's 9 week old last week and felt like I had no idea how to handle her! She was so little and fragile and floppy. I've gotten so used to how sturdy DS is and now I'm worried that I won't know how to handle my daughter when she gets here and is even tinier than my cousin's baby.

I already feel like I'm no more prepared for this baby than I was for DS. There are just so many variables with labor and delivery and personality of the child that it's like I'm a first time mom all over again.

  • just relax.  Everything will come back to you.  Its true that every baby is different and this time around is different too (you have two not just one).  So, take it one day at a time.  Enjoy the rest 39 weeks with your son.

  • I held my cousin's 12 hour old baby on Monday and felt the same way. This morning my daughter was born and my mommy instincts rushed back in. Try not to worry! One nice plus is that even though she's a big baby she feels light as a feather compared to 32lb DS. :)

  • Like post above, relax b/c it will come back to you.  I worried about that too, but it's easier the 2nd time.
