Don't tell the pregnancy police

but I just ate a ham and cheese Lunchable and it was delicious! And no, I didn't heat up the meat. I haven't had one in forever and it look good at the grocery store.

ETA: Just to mention, I'm so not concerned...but I know there are some out there who would totally freak out.

Re: Don't tell the pregnancy police

  • I don't think it is that big of a deal, now if you were eating it 3 meals a day for weeks on end I think it would be different.

FWIW, I am having homemade tuna pasta salad for lunch and I can't wait!

  • I won't tell yours if you don't tell mine.

I had 3 cokes yesterday. My doc suggested coke as something that can help with nausea and I've been trying to limit myself to 1 a day because of the caffeine and sugar. After my first, I was out with DH and another one just sounded soooooooo good. I gave in and got a large drink at Subway (which I am counting as 2).

  • The HORROR!!!! But seriously, don't eat them too often, and not because of the pregnancy stuff...full of salt and it's formed meat and majorly processed cheese (which grosses me out). However, in moments of desperation, I've enjoyed a couple!

I've been drinking soda daily, because of my headaches and allergies.

Oh, no I can't eat them all that often. I had to fast for 12+ hours for a non-pregnancy u/s this morning, then went grocery shopping and I was STARVING. I'm surprised my grocery bill wasn't $200.

  • Your kid's going to come out with a pig face!!!

I'm having a Celeste pizza for one for lunch for the second day in a row. At first this baby was all about Mexican, but now it wants cheap pizza.

"I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing."

  • Oh my gosh, a lunchable sounds amazing! I haven't had one of those in years.

  • I'm eating lunch meat - on occasion; drinking sodas with caffeine - 2 or so a day; eating seafood - when it sounds good; if blue cheese or brie sounded good - I'd eat that, too.

    Moderation.

If a lunchable sounds good - great.  If I don't eat what sounds good - I don't eat.  I quit fighting that a few weeks ago.  Just this week I'm giving up the fight on caffeine...if it's how I can get fluids, I'll take it.

    Just a sip?  Really?

    Probably.

For most of us moderation isn't a problem. And if Hadley chose to have sip of beer, a peice of ham, or a bite of sushi, thats her decision and you don't get to judge. Her body, her baby, her choice.

  • I used to love Lunchables!  I haven't had one of those in forever.  Ham sounds gross, but I would kill for some pepperoni.

  • My theory is that the deli counter meats & cheeses are the issue, not the prepackaged stuff (for bacteria concerns, anyway).  Think about (or maybe don't b/c it's gross) how the slicers sit out.  They slice some meat, don't clean the slicer and then it sits there until they need to slice meat again.  I think lunchables are fine (aside from being processed crap...but I can't really say much about that with all the crap I've been eating lately :)

I have been craving beer!!  And I am not a drinker but it sounds so good:)

  • I ate one the other day too.  And, I had two glasses of Cherry Coke yesterday and am thinking about going and getting one right now.  It's a two liter bottle and my excuse is I don't want it to go flat.

My philosophy during this pregnancy is everything is fine in moderation.

  • Same here! I hate beer but I went out to lunch with my hubby and he got a boddington's on draft and I kept putting my nose to it and smelling, it was all I could do not to take a sip.

    Wow, who's judging?

I really wasn't.  I was teasing and that was all.  I can understand a sip and you are right, anything in moderation is fine.  A whole beer is fine, if that's what you want - so long as you have it in moderation - meaning not daily and not a six pack.  Sounds to me like you have judged me now, so thank you for that.  You don't even know me.

I'd be right there with ya on that sip - 'cept mine would be wine (and I have had sips of champagne at a wedding) - except my morning sickness won't let me get even remotely close to anything I normally like!  So I really meant nothing by it except for maybe - awesome!  I know sarcasm and facetiousness don't come through well on the screen but if we were in life, it would have been apparent I meant nothing.

And I'm right there with ya on emotions staying in check, mostly.  I get sappy when I read a post about someone seeing their baby kicking - but otherwise, well...I don't feel all that pregnant sometimes.  Thank God for M/S...I'd be worried without it!

  • I went out to a lovely 3-course dinner with some girlfriends last night. I had one sip of the wine they were all enjoying, then continued the evening with a light cucumber/mint non-alcoholic cocktail. It was pretty refreshing. :)
  • Oh, I wish my husband was a wine-drinker, so I could have a little taste!  Instead he drinks beer, which IMO is Ick!.  But he does like hard cider too in the summer, which I love, so there's something to look forward to...

    1. I'm not judging you. I'm stating a fact. Sounds like you are part of the "most of us" I was talking about. Good, I'm glad.

    2. I couldn't tell you were teasing. You're right, I don't know. But you didn't have a smily face, or lol, etc etc to show that you weren't teasing. You're new, no one here knows your tone.

    3. The only thing I judge is people judging others decision. Sounds like you weren't doing that, so I'm not judging you. Walla.

THIS!  My husband is a scotch drinker and whenever he pours himself a glass I just sit there and huff it.  I miss alcohol so much.

I tried a non-alcoholic beer and now I'm turned off from beer completely.  I'm sure I'll come around once LO is here, but for now, ew.  Just let me smell your scotch like a crazy person.

  • My doctor told me to eat what I wanted as long as it was food and in moderation, not to worry about everything you COULD get.  She told me not to worry unless I craved chalk or laundry soap.... then to call her office.

FYI, I drank a coffee today.
