We signed up E for swim classes which starts 1st weekend in May. I am looking to buy reusable swim diapers. If you used one and have a particular brand that you like, can you please recommend?
Just fyi...we started A at swim lessons and I bought a pack of Huggies swim diapers, but when we got to lessons, they also wanted us to use the reusable kind. I am not sure of the brand. They only had one kind for $10. I am not sure about your pool, but you might need a combo of both reuseable & disposable swim diapers.

Interesting. Why do they want you to use both kinds?
we use the huggies under an iPlay swim diaper, and all that under his swim suit. he actually doesn't look as puffy as you'd imagine.
also, not sure if you know this or not - none of the swim diapers absorb water very well (they are only designed to hold in solid waste), so don't get LO dressed into the swim diaper until you get to the pool or you will likely end up at some point with a wet stroller or carseat!

I think they really want the plastic pants kind over the swim diaper as extra protection, but we use the iplay diaper instead (and it sounds like thats' what vanilla is finding also). some of the pools here have the regular rubber/plastic pants (like the kind they used to use over cloth diapers back in the day) for sale for like $3.

this i didn't know! I always get her in her swimsuit & diaper before we leave the house! I have definitely been lucky with the liquid!
Our pool also has a policy of using both a disposable swim diaper and a reusable cover. We haven't used them yet (we start swim lessons in June), but I got a Bummis swim diaper to go over the 'sposies.
i got a bummis swim diaper (and yes, it definitely doesn't hold liquid! it's basically just a cover) but haven't used it yet. i wasn't planning on putting a sposie swim diaper underneath, but maybe i should call and ask!
E, some ppl sacrifice a CD pocket and use that as the swim diaper - just wear it w/o the insert. i don't have any extra pockets, so i bought the bummis one.
yes, I did read somewhere that swim diapers are only meant to hold poo and not pee (otherwise it will suck the water in the pool lol). thanks for the reminder not to put the swim diapers until they're ready to dip in the water!
I guess I should call the place where we're having the swim lessons to check what the requirements are.

Hmm..I have a couple of pocket diapers that I don't really care about (since we pretty much only use BGs). Maybe I should try using that.
