Ditto to damabo ... I use electric shaver almost exclusively. I can get it really bare to the skin, especially along the literal bikini line. If I need to feel extra silky I'll follow up with a regular razor, but I try to go in the same direction of the hair, otherwise I get rashy bumps like whoa! I also try to avoid putting panties on for as long as possible after using a real razor so the area can breathe and not be irritated.
I've tried all kinds of random creams for during shaving and for afterward, none have worked 100%.
Re: NBR - Bikini Line bumps
When I shave with the electric razor, I don't get the bumps, but when I shave with the regular razor, I get the bumps.
Electric razor gives a nice "trimming", but it's not like it leaves you silky smooth like the real one does.

I use Sally Hansen's Zero Bumps pads. They work pretty well.
