Back from the viewing (very sad-baby Gavin mentioned)

So I am back from the viewing. It was so incredibly sad. There were pictures and videos streaming. And seeing him in the little white casket was just so intense. My friend R was amazingly strong. Luckily we all went as a group so it was not so awkward and I think she appreciated our presence.

I ended up getting a card and a locket for her. I put his picture and the quote "love is loving you now and forever."  I figured that flowers were too cliche and that she would appreciate the necklace more.

 The graveside service is tomorrow. I won't be able to make it since we can't coordinate childcare but I am sure that it will be a very tough time for her and her family. The oldest son G is having a real hard time and I also sensed some distance between R and her husband so please continue to pray for them.  Thank you for all your prayers. This is such a tragic loss. My heart just breaks.

    How very sad and it just breaks my heart.  I'm happy you were able to be there for her and I'm sure she'll love the necklace.  continued prayers for the family and big ((hugs)) for you too.

    DD #1 passed away in January 2011 at 14 days old due to congenital heart disease
    DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption

    Keeping this family close in my thoughts.  I think she will love the necklace.  I agree, flowers are sometimes too easy.  I think she will appreciate your extra thought.
