TTC After a Loss

Blogging after your loss?

I don't get on here often on my new SN, but I was wondering how many of you have steady blogs about your loss? I would be interested to read them. I just started and although it is bringing up a whole new wave of emotions, I feel like it is helping me to get them out there. I tend to bottle things up. XOXO and Happy Wednesday to you all.

  • I don't have a blog but I agree that it is very helpful to read others!

  • I don't have a blog, but I have found it therapeutic to read www.facesofloss.com. A friend of mine lost twins at 24 weeks and was just "featured" on the site.

  • I have a co-worker/good friend who blogged after losing her son a few hours after he was born.  Around the 18w u/s they learned he did not have kidneys, which meant he couldn't create urine, leading to low amniotic fluid, and his lungs did not develop fully.  So they knew at that point he was not going to make it.  Her blog is beautiful.  She has brought me so much strength and comfort during my loss, and I often find comfort reading her posts.  So many people have told her she needs to publish her blog somehow...make it a book or make it her life's work so she can become one of those famous bloggers like Pioneer Woman or something.

Anyway, I've tried blogs before, and I just don't have the dedication a blog needs.  I write three or so posts and then forget about it...a year later I remember I have a blog.  I've started a journal, which I haven't written in for several weeks, but I don't feel as guilty because other people aren't reading it.

  • I didn't blog right after my loss, in fact, I didn't start mine until a year later. I was amazed at how much better I felt though. Even if you don't update a lot after you first start, getting it out and having that spot to go to when you need to helps a lot.

I'm an emotion bottler too and I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner!

  • I have a blog (Link in siggy) that I started before my loss, just about our life and homemaking/decorating/cooking. After our first loss I felt compelled to be very real about the whole situation. How I felt, the process, etc. My readers weren't there to read that type of content, but I felt that people should know how it affects real people. Everyday. As we continued to have losses and know begin the RPL testing, I've continued to include it in my blog. Its been very therapuetic for me, and some friends IRL have contacted me admitting they had a miscarriage and were encouraged by me blog.

I've read several blogs about miscarriage and success after miscarriage and they have helped me so much.
