love it?
Can you run msft office docs on it? I am going to need a laptop replcement (I do most stuff on my desktop though) and need something to bring to clients, etc. planning on getting an ipad or 2 for the business anyway and doing research/data collection. just wondering if I can forgo an additional purchase of a netbook 9small...) or laptop....
Re: ipad
You know, my initial reaction to this was get a laptop. We've held off on them at work because of their lack of integration with MS applications - and in my industry, having a portable device is key....
Here's a good article on it: https://www.networkworld.com/news/2011/030311-ipad2-customers.html
So - it depends on exactly what you're doing with your clients and I'd wonder why you wanted an iPad or two for the business? What are you thinking of doing on them that you couldn't do on a laptop and have the additional power of MS applications behind you?
I get you can surf the web and there are lots of fun and/or useful apps - but for business? I'm still in the iPads are for play more than commerce camp.
DH is testing Ipad compatibility for his business. So far, it's a no go. The Ipad works with a keyboard but not a mouse (or a mouse and not a keyboard?) anyway you can't have both. Plus, the wireless keyboard DH got broke within a week. He's had it 3 weeks, and still needs to try some more testing.
I know photographers are having good luck with it as a marketing tool. Instead of showing off portfolio books they just use the Ipad.
For therapy? Everyone I know who does therapy loves them: Lots of aps, kids get to "use" it with their hands, it's great for cause and effect.
We are getting one for pictures, aps, web surfing, and travel entertainment and leaving the PC/lap top for finance stuff, back up storage and use of MS office products.
