So a question popped into my head. I have heard of false positive PG results....is there a such thing as false negative? Now I am talking about the POAS kind only.
I know..totally random....my brain is scattered everywhere these days....lol.

False negatives are more probable than false positives.
If a POAS test is positive, it means that there is enough hCG to be detected.
You could be pregnant but not far enough along to test positive = 'false' negative.
True!
With Simon I POAS for like almost 2 weeks every other day- negative every time. I didn't get the BFP until like cycle day 45 or something- my cycles were crazy long. In fact, I peed on it, stuck the lid thing on it, and cast it aside on top of my bathroom shelves and hopped in the shower... I was so used to it being negative that I didn't really even look at it til that afternoon when I saw the veeeeeery faint second line, and thought it was an evap line.
The next morning I took the digital and voila- PREGNANT.
I saw an ep of I didn't know I was PG. The chick skipped TWO periods and tested twice, each time was negative. She figured stress was effecting her cycle. wrong!

That show is like crack to me....all those shows are my crack, I especially love, I didn't know I was having multiples!
This last go around when I got a faint line on a FRER (10 dpo), I got a not pregnant on a digital. I used another digital that next morning and still got a negative, but a positive (and a darker line) on a FRER. So yes, I think it's possible, but only if it's still really early.

A very good friend of mine had this happen with her 2nd child. She had to convince the Dr to do an exam and sure enough she was pg and about 10 weeks along.
O yea the first time i poas with dd it was a very faint line and i was positive i was pregnant but just to double check i waited until the next morning and poas again and it was neg confused i went and bought like 10 more and was peeing on them over the course of a week i even went to my ob and still neg and i asked them to do a blood test so they set me up with an appt but the next morning when i woke up and poas again it turned dark pink right away i knew it all along so i went back to ob and they confirmed it we were 6 weeks along so it can happen!

I had - POAS at 13dpo and 14dpo but a beta of 54 on 14dpo. 15dpo the line was so so faint, but DH could see it if he held it up to the light.
