For the past month or so Evan had been doing pretty well with lunch at school. I would send him fruit/veggies, cheese, chicken (or some other chopped meat), crackers, etc. He would usually eat it all. For the past week or so all he wants to do is throw it on the floor. He will drink his sippy cup (he is still on formula) and then just throw his food. If the teacher tires to give him the same food from lunch for his snack he will throw it on the floor. 1/2 the time he will eat his snack (fruit and veggie mum-mums or yogurt melts) the other 1/2 he throws it on the floor.
He doesn't eat much for breakfast or dinner either. Is this just a phase? I'm trying to determine if he does this with all food or if he is just bored with what we usually give him.
Also, I want to teach him to not throw his food. We are getting tired of it and I know his teacher is.
Any suggestions?

Re: Why eat food when you can throw it?
Ditto what pp said about the formula.
It may be a combo of being full and the yay throwing food on the floor is fun phase. When DD went through that, I would take the food away. If she threw it on the floor the plate went away. She learned pretty quickly to only do it after she was done eating, lol.

Good point about the formula. That is what is probably happening at daycare. We haven't had his 12 month check up because of his recurring ear infections, so we haven't switched to milk just yet.
I also think that he thinks it is fun (he does this even if we feed him solids before his formula) and I am probably making too big a deal out of it. The other day he put some chicken on top of his head and DH started laughing. So of course he did it again. He probably wants us to lighten up.
I guess I need to relax. Food has always been an issue with DS, so it probably bothers me more. That and the fact that I think he has dropped a percentile on the growth chart. I'll just try to relax and wait to see what the Pedi says when we finally have his check up - whenever that may be.
It is hard to be a mom and a Type A personality. :-)
