Intro and Question - Crazy Doc?? (sort of long)

Hi all.  I've been lurking for a while and have learned a ton here.  I know you don't like questions from newbies ;), but I'm pretty sure I've done ample research first and won't piss anyone off!  I went off BCP 8/10 and began TTC #1 10/10.  I was having pretty consistent cycles (35 days) and OPKs indicate O around CD 19.  I just began charting this month (see link) and FF said I O'd at CD18 this month, too.  I went to my doctor about a month ago (before temping/charting) and as soon as he heard that my cycles are 35 days, he was adament that I wasn't O'ing.  Do you agree?  I know I have to keep temping, but if I wasn't O'ing, wouldn't I be having longer cycles?  He said the OPK's predict O, but obviously don't confirm it.  I would argue that so far my temps this month confirm O.  Thoughts?  Please chart stalk!  TIA.  (FYI, I'm in the process of reading TCOYF)!

    I wouldn't say that your chart this month necessarily confirms O. That said, simply having a 35-day cycle doesn't mean you're not Oing. Also, I know I'm a newb too, but I think newb questions are almost always taken perfectly well as long as they're not silly.

    Welcome! I think your DR doesn't know what he's talking about. Of course you can have a 35 day cycle and be ovulating! My cycles are all between 30-35 days and I have a clear pattern of O -- check out my FF charts.

    Keep at what you're doing. If you are ovulating, you should have some nice, pretty charts to present to him to prove him wrong :)

    I would say that O isn't necessarily confirmed yet. There is a temp shift, but I'm would still keep humping it out. and continue to temp the next few days and see what your temps do. And like PP said, a 35 day cycle doesn't mean your not O'ing either. Keep temping, see what happens and hang in there! And Welcome! GL!

    I'd say you have a crazy doc.  I'd be looking for a new doc if I were in your position.  Also, it's too early to say you definitely O'd, but I think you probably did.

    TY so much for all the opinoins.  I think I will be looking for a new Dr.  He didn't even suggest charting or monitoring CM.  It's been a battle trying to convince my DH that the Dr. is probably wrong.  He is more from the "when it happens it will happen" mindset.  I, on the other hand, have been stressing about all of this.  Thanks for understanding!  It's nice to be able to share here.
