No joke, did I think I wouldn't meet my husband until I was almost 33? No way. Am I glad I didn't marry the idiot I went to law school with, dated for four years, and found out later he was cheating on me? HELL yes. Things happen for a reason. I don't know if you guys saw in that other thread, but Halle Berry was quoted as saying something about God having it backwards and we should get more fertile as we get older and wiser. AGREE AGREE AGREE.
I'm 41 and just had my 3rd child. I thought of the "what ifs", we planned her knowing all of the out comes that could happen. We are thankful she is perfectly healthy.
Indeed. If I hadn't been busy with M I would have added - she plans to be done having kids by 30 and could never imagine being one of us. Sad, desperate and risking God knows what kind of issues by waiting to have kids until "later in life."
Do I sound bitter? I shouldn't. DH and I have been together since I was 25 and we waited so long to have M on purpose.
I agree things happen. Not everyone can plan on having kids in their 20's. From my experience it is better to wait.
I am 43, married 24 years, 4 kids-21,19,17 and 14 and now expecting a suprise in July. I am happy about it now that I am over the shock.
The most suprising thing is my DH. He is so excited about this new LO. He has told me he feels more relaxed about things this time around, confident in his parenting, no struggling to pay for bills or working 2 jobs, so I can stay home etc. He is constantly rubbing my belly hopeing for a kick, he is even picturing a LO runnning to him as he gets home from work. Even my older kids are excited.
I feel like I missed something: did someone DD a post? I don't see anything all that inflammatory about having kids post 35.
The link in my post still seems to work. It links to a post on Pregnant after 35, and from there there's a link to a poorly written and researched blog written by an up herself whipper snapper.
Re: Funny (in a sad kind of way) post on Pregnant + 35
They sure don't, that is why we call JP our little combat vet...
