Follie Check update

Hello Ladies,

I had an u/s this morning to check on my follicle growth. Today is day 12, and I had two follicles on the right side, each at 17mm. I go back in the morning for one more u/s, will probably trigger tomorrow and IUI #5 on Wednesday.

I feel really good about this cycle. All previousl cycles had something that seemed to be "off", but this one is good so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I really need this month to be the month. I am not sure how much more of this I can do.

Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    40yo; DH 37; TTC 1y. No specific DX. Beginning 1st IVF cycle 30 Mar 11.

    I was wondering where you were!!  Good luck for a smooth cycle this month. You deserve one!!

     I have a general question for everyone since I can't figure it out. Why do some women ovulate a 17mm follie while in your case, you are going back for another check, trigger tomorrow with IUI 72 hrs later(Friday)?  I've started to O on both med cycles when follies were 17/19/15mm, had to trigger with IUI only 12 hrs later.   I would have never make it 96 hrs from a 17mm follie. I don't get it?  Anyone have answers for me? Is it just a combo of the estrogen/LH values and mine is pushing the egg out early due to the high FSH pumping through me?

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    K & K born 11/21/14 at 38wks 4 days

    Isn't that just for IVF? I'm still doing IUI.

    My IUI will actually be about 48 hours after a 17mm follicle which should put them at about 19-21 mm at O which is the right size. Check #1 today, check #2 tomorrow (24 hours) and IUI Wednesday.

    Although I di have my sperm being delivered tomrorow just in case.

    Mc Irish....this follie size thing is for sure a part of the process that varies so much. I think it is the RE's interpretation of the "science". (like my RE has the IUI ladies use BCP and does cycles then every other)  My IUI, the RE said they were growing slow, so I waited and went back the next day for another u/s (not sure the size)....then triggered the following morning. My next IUI (hopefully) I have some Orgalutran...it is suposed to stop the ovulation while the follices grow...that is what the nurse told me anyways.

     

    TTC since 2009 very frustrated 42yr and DH 40

    5 cycles of Clomid with satisfactory response=BFN's
    Fibroid removal Nov2010
    IUI Clomid #1 Feb 2011...BFN..damn it!
    IUI Inject's #2 Apr 2011...CANCELLED...low estradiol
    IUI Inject's #3 June 2011...BFN
    IUI Inject's #4 Sept2011...BFFN
    Lap Dec 2011...severe endo..cyst removed..some remains...
    IVF#1 Apr 2012 ....cancelled due to over suppression
    IVF#2 July 2012....6 follies...only 1 retrieved....BFFN
    surgery suggested to move ovary to an better placement but....we moved two time zones away and are financially and emotionally empty

    OK, Wednesday makes a lot more sense than Friday! Glad you edited it. I thought I was crazy when I went back and saw Wednesday!!

    That's great. I just got my follie check for IVF, really great, the ultrasound tech said I was the best she had seen all day.  I trigger tonight, staring to get excited/nervous. I have 20 follies, with most likely half being large enough for retrieval, I hope there are good eggs in there!  Good luck to all, it's a big week!

    2nd u/s this morning. One follicle still at 17mm, the other is up to 20mm. Getting ready to give myself the trigger and then IUI will be tomorrow at noon! Wish me luck!

    Thought it was odd that one grew 3 mm and one didn't grow at all.
