Birthing classes?

For those of you who have already done yours... we start tonight! I was wondering did you bring your pillows on the first day as well? What did you wear?

Re: Birthing classes?

  • We have our 3rd class tomorrow night. We were told to bring 2 pillows and a blanket to every class. We used them in each class, and it looks like we will be using them for the duration! I'd make sure you bring a puffy blanket! Laying down on a hard floor is a killer. Actually...it's the getting back up off the floor that's tough!

I just wore yoga pants and a long sleeved tee. Comfy clothes basically.

    Good luck!

  • We did bring pillows, we had some floor excerises we needed them for. I wore yoga pants and a tshirt.
  • Everything we need is supplied. I have worn or brought yoga pants to change into for the 2 classes we've had so far.  I would be fine in jeans but since the focus of the class is on relaxation/comfort, I find it helpful to be as comfortable as possible.
  • We have done 4 out of 7 of our classes.  We used our yoga mat and pillows at every class.  Sitting/laying on the hard floor really sucks, and I find it difficult to get into the relaxation and breathing techniques.  You might even consider bringing a comforter, cushions, blankets... anything to make the floor more cushy!  Oh, and I wear jeans to class, but I always wear jeans.

  • Thanks ladies! I didn't think about a blanket but that makes a ton of sense!

  • We've brought pillows and blankets to class every time. Our teacher does a relaxation thing with us at the end where we lie down on the floor. And in one class she led the husbands in giving the wives a massage (yay!). One time we used the pillows in a stretching exercise. I wore jeans the first day and was uncomfortable stretching in jeans, so I try to wear yoga pants now.

  • It matters on your class.  We were told we can bring pillows if we are more comfortable that way but we do not need them.  When we have done exercises - she sets up stations and we rotate. If a pillow or mat is needed they are provided
