Let's see...
Sinus infection #1 10 weeks - ZPACK
Exposed to flu 13 weeks - Tamiflu
Sinus infection #2 17 weeks- self-treated - or at least tried (took Tylenol and Sudafed one day, but didn't feel good in taking that so...
Sinus infection #3 19 weeks (which is probably the same one from 17 weeks) NOW - Augmentin...
Exposed to fifths disease(I'm a teacher)..going in for bloodwork on Thursday to make sure that I don't have it already!
Good grief people!! I cannot win with this pregnancy! When I was pregnant with my son, I was healthy as a horse..this one is suckin' the ever-living life out of me! ![]()
Just a sidenote, my OBGyn has approved everything I've taken and thankfully I haven't done too many over the counter drugs.
Has anyone else experienced this? I cannot get well? Anyone ever taken Augmentin? I didn't know we could take that until today, but it's in the same category as Z-packs...Category B which is deeemed safe thank goodness. It's hard not to worry! ![]()
Re: Who's been the SICKEST? Bet I can win...
I've had a raging, lingering head cold, sinus infection (amoxicilin), actually HAD the flu (diagnosed too late for Tamiflu but ended me in the ER for IV fluids and was given codeine cough syrup), have mega allergies to the pollen at the moment, and have had raging m/s that just stopped a week or two ago. Oh, and have also been around DS who had two ear/respiratory infections and strep throat in that time too.
Being sick sucks. I didn't realize this was a competition.
That stinks, I agree, there are women who have had to be hospitalized, they would win, but for every day stuff, that is pretty bad.
My whine:
After surviving 16w of m/s and losing weight, I got better when I went on an Rx for my GERD at 18w. I was finally able to stop vomiting. Then I got a cold. A really bad one. At the same time, I got a stomach virus. After the stomach virus, my Rx stopped working and I started getting the GERD again, esp. at night. Vomiting again, and acid coming up into my mouth whenever I laid down. Puking up bile (like battery acid). The acid has now inflamed an ulcer (which I got from the cold/virus and my immune system being so beaten down) in my throat/esophogus which is like the worst sore throat you can imagine. The ulcer keeps getting worse and worse because acid and bile is splashing into it and eating away at it. I am finally on a new Rx and it seems to be working, now the ulcer just has to heal, and I'll be good as new.

I'm guessing you're going to get some harsh responses considering your choice of words.
Being pregnant can be hard, being sick can be hard and being both can be, at times, down right miserable but it's really not a competition. I think it's worthwhile to always remember there are those who have it worse than you.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
Yep! You all are right...there are more people in worse shoes than me! No doubt. I am just usually never sick and it has been one thing after another...I'm trying hard to stay out of the hospital with doing everything I can to prevent any pneumonia symptoms! Didn't mean to be insensitive with the 'bet I can win.." it was more so sarcastic because of my frustration of having to be on so many drugs while pregnant - I don't like taking anything other than my prenatals..who does?
Harsh responses, or not...I'm still frustrated and hope I, along with others, get better so we can take care of our newborns!
This. Not that it's a competition...we all have one goal: healthy babies.
Yeast infection 6 weeks
Hyperemesis - Hospitalized at 8 weeks
UTI -8 weeks
E. Coli - 9 weeks
Another UTI 11 weeks
Allergic reaction to medication for UTI 11 weeks
Yeast infection from antibiotics 13 weeks
But still....Sorry you have been sick too! Like you, this pg is kicking my butt BIG TIME
7 weeks - M/S from hell begins. Have bleeding from violently throwing up.
10 weeks - down 15 pounds from m/s, bleed again badly. Hospitalized for bleeding.
12 weeks - can't keep down water or any pills. Miserable. Given Phenegren rub for nausea (even after I told the doctor I am allergic) = rash and more misery. Finally get Zofran that dissolves. Life saver.
14 weeks - Down 22 pounds. Hospitalized for heart problems (skipping beats). Start bleeding again (heavy).
15 weeks - More heart problems, put on heart monitor until further notice.
Anyone else sick and tired of hearing "well pregnancy will do weird things to your body!" Ugh, still doesn't make it OK.
This and also, Who cares, we are all getting sick and it sucks....I made a trip to the ER for a migraine and was given all sorts of drugs on top of that and iv with caffine.... but a healthy baby is all we ask.....
