For some reason, I'm terrified of being one of those people that calls the dr for ridiculous reasons, so I'm wondering if you guys think I'm crazy or if this is worth a call.
I've been having somewhat sharp pain in my front right rib (a little under my boob), and it tends to move to the same area but in the back (under my right shoulder blade). It started a little over a week ago, best I can remember, and I assumed it was from the baby moving around or being weighted more towards one side or the other. I'm pretty sure it's not from kicks or his feet because he's far down, and his feet don't get anywhere near there. It goes away at times but keeps coming back. It was really bothering me yesterday, and someone mentioned that it could be my gallbladder? It went away while I was sleeping, but it started to come back a couple hours after I got up this morning, and now it's getting worse again. I can't find a comfortable position to get in to make it go away.
I would have just thought it was normal pregnancy pains until my friend mentioned that it could be a gallbladder thing. Am I overreacting, or do you think it's worth a call? TIA

I had gall stones and later had my gall bladder removed.
While the pain you describe could be g/b pain, it could be a million other things as well.
Additionally, I had other symptoms and not just pain.

That's what I figured. I don't really know what the other symptoms are (I didn't even know where my gallbladder was until now), and I didn't find much that was helpful when I tried to look it up. I'll probably just break down and call the doctor just in case. I haven't called her for anything up until this point, and I'm almost 36 weeks.
The worst and most common of the symptoms is nausea and/or vomiting after eating. Foods high in fat are the worst.
I couldn't eat more than a few fork fulls of anything at a sitting.
Then again, baby pressing into your stomach kind of has the same effect right now too.
It's a crap shoot and yeah, you should call, just in case!

Thanks for the info!
I had gallbladder "sludge" with my last pregnancy and had the same symptoms. Sludge usually hurts after about an hour after a meal, which is why you feel better at certain times of the day. Avoid fatty foods and see if you feel better. As soon as I improved my diet, I felt alot better and my symptoms were completely gone after the baby was born. If its not better in a day or two with not eating any fats I would call your doctor. Good luck.
