NBR: Your can't-miss TV shows

What shows do you (or did you) absolutely love? I am looking for some new shows to get into on Netflix.

DH and I were really into Lost while it was on. I also went through every season of Weeds, The Office, and Desperate Housewives in the newborn days (I'd watch episodes on end when I was holding her for naps and when we couldn't go anywhere b/c of weather or exhaustion).  I like shows with ongoing story lines and plot twists best!

  • I love Weeds!  I'm behind though- the last episode I saw was the season 5 finale.  Have you watched Arrested Development or 30 Rock?  Both are on Netflix.
  • Loading the player...
  • Bones is my absolute favorite and all the seasons are on Netflix watch it now. I also recentley got into Army Wives which is also on Netflix (I'm a Netflixaholic) and that was really really good as well.

  • 'Weeds' is awesome.

    'Big Love' is good, too.

I also really liked the first 3 seasons of 'Grey's Anatomy'.

I'm watching 'Mob Wives' right now on VH1 and, so far, I LOVE IT!!

  • Doctor Who - season premier this Saturday!

No Reservations - Tony Bourdain is SO in my hot tub

    Top Gear

Psych - I've loved Dule Hill since West Wing.  And James Roday ain't half bad, either. Plus Corbin Bernsen as his dad and Cybill Shephard as his mom, named Maddie?  That's 80s gold right there.

    On Netflix we've been watching:

Torchwood - John Barrowman is also in my hot tub

    Michael Palin: Sahara and Himalaya

  • Thanks to you ladies, we are addicted to Dexter!

We also watch Greys, American Idol, Modern Family, Parenthood, and Friday Night Lights (season just started back up last week!)

  • Oh. Also?

The Tudors.  I'm a huge Tudor History buff and it's SOOOOOOOOOO not historically accurate.  But it's such a guilty pleasure of mine.  Jonathan Rhys Meyers? Henry Cavill? Callum Blue?  Yes, yes and yes, please.  Also, Natalie Dormer is the best Anne I've seen in tv or film.  And Sam Neill as Cardinal Wolsey and Jeremy Northam as Thomas Moore are just brilliantly cast.

And I'm seriously considering getting Showtime just to watch The Borgias.  ZOMG.  Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo/Pope Alexander VI? Helloooooooooooo nurse!

  • If you loved Lost, you should netflix the first two seasons of Fringe!

And Arrested Development...you are going to pee your pants!  I still can't believe that show got cancelled.

LOL @ guilty pleasures.  I totally have those, too (Bethenny Ever After, Housewives of NYC, Tosh.0, the Soup, etc.)

I am dying to see Boardwalk Empire and True Blood, but they're not on the Netflix streaming service yet.

Oh, and Curlydog, I'm cracking up at your "in my hot tub" comments!

Thank you! No BlueRay though - we stream through our Apple TV.  I just remembered that DH just ordered HBO though (so he can watch the new series Game of Thrones, which he read and loved), so I'll try to catch up via OnDemand! Woo!

Oh, and Curlydog, I'm cracking up at your "in my hot tub" comments!

That's a family thing.  You put people in your hot tub that you find attractive in one way or another - physically, mentally, whatever.

So, Tony Bourdain (bad boy), Johnny Depp (artsy and sensitive), and Stephen Hawking (talk particle physics to me) are examples of people in my hot tub.

  • Dexter, Bones, Criminal Minds and No Ordinary Family!

But I also watch Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. Embarrassed

And re-runs of Home Improvement, Roseanne and Passions! :)

Jeremy Northam is in Tudors?!  Ok, you've sold me on it.  Hope it's on Netflix!

  • Greys anatomy is my all time favorite! I watched the first 6 seasons while I was on bedrest. I also really like American Idol, So you think you can dance, and Chelsea Lately.
