Story :
My nurse gave me a time line with max/min days on BC and max/min days of stims.
Only one combo DH will be here for the ET, the other 3 he will not.
If I recall, you are on bedrest after ET, correct?
Thank you for your help!

Re: Does DH go with you to ET?
DH did go w/ me to ET?
I was given Valium the day of my ET so I had to have someone drive me home. I could have went w/out taking the Valium, but I think it helped me when I found out we only had one crappy embryo to transfer.
The entire day was pretty emotional and I don?t think I could have gone through it w/out DH being w/ me.
Forever our's October 17th 2012
This is what I told my nurse who said I completely undestand wanting him there...DH is all - do you really need me. I said physically, no, but emotionally and mentally, yes.

This exactly (down to the valium!). Also we do have a 3+ hour drive to the clinic so DH almost always goes with me when I have to go up to the main clinic...
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
At my old RE, DH didn't go to either of my 2 ETs. DH couldn't come since he was OOT for work, so I asked them about it. They said if someone drove me, I could take the valium beforehand, but if not, I'd have to wait until I got home to take the valium.... they said that would have been fine. However, my mom drove me. The only thing was that DH and I agreed how many we thought we wanted to transfer ahead of time and that was 2. However, given our craptastic embryos and the fact that we did a 3 day transfer, when I got there, they showed me the stats and 3 really seemed like the way to go, so I called him and explained the stats to him and he agreed to go with 3. I had to sign a form saying how many I wanted to transfer. There was a line for DH to sign as well, so the nurse put a note that I called him.
We are now seeing a new RE for IVF #3. I haven't asked their policy on if DH is required to attend ET, so I should probably do that since it is soon. However, I know DH won't be OOT for work. But since we moved to Indy, my mom is no longer in town, so that won't be an option.
Good luck to you!!

My RE did not rec bed rest, just to take it easy the day of ET...but we are OOP and I wanted to make sure I did anything I could, so I took it upon myself to take the of and the day after ET off.

This. I knew I wanted him there for emotional and physical support. I don't think I could have done this without him. In his words, he says if we were conceiving the "old fashioned" way he would be present, so why wouldn't he be present for conception in this way. Make sense?
We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

For my OE cycles, DH went with me. My clinic gave me valium so someone would have to be with me to drive.
For DE, we are cycling out of state. It is hard for both of us to leave work for several days, so I go alone. That clinic doesn't give valium, so I am fine to drive. It is much better when DH can be with me.
DH comes with me as long as his work schedule permits. I've had 5 ETs and I think he's been at 3. I love having him with me for it, but if he can't come, it's okay. I took valium for the first two transfers, so he was there to drive me. But, I don't take the valium anymore, so if he can't make it, I am okay to drive.
My clinic only requires that you take it easy after ET. If DH is not with me, I drive the hour home and then just relax on the couch till he gets home from work.
Thanks for asking this. I just found out last night that my H will be OOT on the 2 days they are projecting a 5dt would be (if we make it there). I will just have a friend drive me there and back.
I'm more worried of who will do my PIO shots.

I think i will be ok with the shots and driving and resting - i think more of it is just teh support of him being there and as this is our first one as well. Im just completely overwhelmed and would rather him be there then worry about him not.

My DH came with me, but i would have been ok on my own if he was not available.
There is no valium, so i could just walk out after. Neither of my RE's require bedrest.
I would LIKE DH to come, but if he could not...i'd be fine.
good luck!!!!!
Because we're fancy like that.
DH was there both times for ER and ET.
I wouldn't want to do it without him.
My RE didn't put me on bedrest, but he said to stay home from work and take it easy... I pretty much treated it like bedrest.
Good luck!!!

D always comes to ET's - he loves seeing the u/s guided transfer and watching embies go back where they belong.
My clinic also offers valium and sometimes i take it and sometimes i don't.

My nurse didnt say anything about valium - but I think like D - MH would want to watch...he got to see our last IUI and thought that was pretty cool....I do want to make him a part of it as much as I can. He said it was up to me.
I will wait one more month and let my nurse know. I would have to start BCP tomorrow!
Thanks again ladies!
