XP: Faint bfp not getting darker?

I am 11dpo and for the last 2 days I have had VERY faint BFP (like squint and tilt to see faint) on FRER, and they are not getting any darker. As they sit the line gets darker on them to where it is clearly visible (but it is after the 10 min mark). I took a digi and it said NOT PREGNANT (man I hate those).

Have any of you ladies experienced anything like this and went on to be pregnant? I'm worried this might be a missed m/c or ectopic.  THANKS! (This is our 2nd Clomid cycle this time around.)

  • At 11 DPO you are still early.  Relax, take a deep breath, wait a couple days and test again.  Good Luck!!

  • I've been through the same thing - 2 days of faint lines on FRER followed by a digital "not pregnant" the next day - and unfortunately, I wasn't pregnant.  The doctor's office told me that it was probably a fertilized egg that didn't implant since there was HCG in my blood.  (They also said that this is why you shouldn't test early!)  I believe I started testing at 13 dpo though, so it could be just too early to tell for you.  I've heard that digitals are more reliable closer to your expected period. Try again in a couple days if AF doesn't show.  GL!

My experience is similar to this. I took an FRER at 9dpo and got a super faint, tilt it the right way BFP, so I went to Jewel bought an Equate brand and some digitals. I took one digital right away since I hadnt drank anything yet but it said "NO", then later that afternoon I took the equate and another digital, I had a faint line and a "pregnant". Since Ive had some left over Ive been taking them randomly...because Im a POAS addict and my line is still faint but def there. About ten minutes later its really nice :) The digital still says pregnant. I would be 13dpo today, and it doesnt seem real yet but I think I got really lucky getting a BFP that early, I would wait and test again later today or tomo with FMU or SMU. GL to you

  • My line was VERY faint 11 and 12 DPO, thats when I stopped taking them. I would wait a few days and take a digital again!

  • How dark the line doesn't indicate how pregnant you are. The color of the line is dependant upon the dye in the test. As long as you read the results in the correct amount of time, you're pregnant.

  • My lines were not dark at all... I just waited and tested again and again.  Stay  positive... to me, a line that is read between the "time mark" of the test is a line. Smile

  • One more thing to consider, the digital tests require more hcg to produce a result. Check out peeonastick.com, it shows the strengths of various tests. If you test too early with a test that requires more hcg, it may show as negative. I haven't had false negatives with FRER before.

It could have been a chemical pregnancy, but it may be too soon to tell.

Test again in a few days maybe? Give yourself a couple days break though.

  • This happened to me and m/c'd at 5 weeks.  I did get a pregnant result on a digital, but the pink dye tests I took every day for about a week never got any darker- I could barely see the lines.  The day before I started bleeding, I took one in the AM with FMU and it was negative.  I'm not saying this is going to happen to you, just giving you my experience.  I hope that it's just a little early for you.  Give it a few days and see what happens.
