Yup, I had this with my last pregnancy. I had to change my toothpaste because the mint flavor was really getting to me. I had to use a kid's toothpaste because everything had either mint, cinnamon or lemon. I just tried to be quick and distracted while I brushed my teeth. GL!

((HUGS)) I've been ok with teeth brushing so far, but had horrible puking and retching while DH was away in week 7. I hated how lonely I felt. I love when he comes and holds my hair back or rubs my back. So I'm sending you tons of ((HUGS)) while he is away. It WILL get better.

Yes! I dread brushing my teeth. Mostly because it tastes terrible!! Ive tried 3 different toothpastes and its all gross. I cant WAIT to go to the dentist next week. Blergh!
Yes. Thursday before I got on a plane to travel across the country. I thought I was doomed to be throwing up all over the place on my flights. Turns out, it stopped right there, and that was the end of it. It hasn't happened since.
I hope it was just this one time for you!

Yes! I have been naseous almost daily, but have only thrown up three times during my pregnancy, all as a result of brushing teeth! Last night I didn't make it to the toilet... I threw up in the sink

Everyday! Well, its mostly from brushing my tongue. It has induced puking several times - then I have to brush again, yuk! I have learned not to brush soon after eating.

I at least gag every time. It's made me actually throw up probably 4-5 times.
Good news though- I'm a dental hygienist, and for those of you whose toothpaste flavor is causing it, you can just quit using toothpaste!
Toothpaste is nothing but fresh flavor and some fluoride- the real cleaning is done by the physical brushing of your teeth. So I'd say drop the paste altogether until you get to feeling better! Best of luck!
Not brushing my teeth...but washing my hands in my bathroom. My handsoap makes me gag. I hold my breath when I wash my hands. And it hasn't gone away yet...

Like an above poster said, not so much my teeth, but my tongue. Ugh...I usually go through 3 or 4 tries before I can not throw up and actually feel clean. I guess the plus side is that my teeth are probably cleaner than ever! Hahaha.

I am! I had this with DD too. It lasted about 15 weeks with her. It's horrible! Yesterday I dry heaved for a good 10 minutes after I brushed. My stomach muscles hurt so bad. I go to the dentist on Monday. I'm hoping I don't do it there!
About half the time thats why I end up throwing up in the morning. I have to be real careful, and slow down if not stop entirely....but sometimes I can prevent it from leading to anything worse. It sucks

If you cannot get over not using toothpaste, I suggest getting a natural kind, like Tom's or Trader Joe's (get the mint though, not the fennel, unless you like black licorice). They use very little or no sugar/sweeteners, so the flavor is very mild.
I've been flossing like a champ lately. I don't know why, but I feel a lot better flossing a couple times a day.
Yes, I gag every time I brush my teeth. I had this problem with DD too. I think I do it because I hit the back of my throat when I brush my molars, and it makes me gag. It also helps me not to brush my teeth right after eating.

This week, I'm finally able to brush my teeth without gagging! I have even been able to use listerine again for the last 3 days!
Could hardly brush my teeth week 6-10. Had 2 days in week 8 that *gasp* I didn't brush my teeth cause I couldn't without vomiting. Flame away.
Whenever I can't brush my teeth at that moment, I chew gum and rinse my mouth with water after I eat.
