DD is 4 months, 2 adj and she still doesnt seem to know she has hands! She will only grab my finger and hold it while she eats, or she eats her hands at night before sleeping. When we dangle things in front of her, she could care less. She has so many little toys to play with and doesn't care.
Re: When did LO start "playing" with toys?
He has been playing with toys for the last couple of months. I am thinking for some baby toys, they will say 6 months plus. He teethes on his stuffed toys. We also have Sesame Street teether toys. The only crazy thing is that he will push out the toy or the toy fall out from the stroller. My nickname for his Peter Rabbit is "suicide bunny" because he will push it out and the stroller will run over the toy. And then someone will tell me that the toy has fallen out (or it was pushed out).
He really loves his Baby Einstein entertainer that he got for Christmas. He teethes a lot on it.
For my son I think it was around 4 months adjusted - he's started batting at things (on purpose). Then, around 5 months he would grab them and now you can't keep anything out of his mouth (almost 6 months adjusted).
The way it happens for us it hat one day he totally isn't doing something, then the next day he is. It's so cool how quickly they learn at this age!!
Definitely not at 2 months adjusted!
He discovered how to bring his hands/toys to his mouth at over 4 months adjusted.
My boys just started bringing their hands to their mouths and chewing on them within the last couple of weeks. I have given them teethers and they like it when I put them in their mouths, but they won't do it themselves yet. Tage can hold onto a plastic ring for awhile, but he doesn't seem to understand that it's in his hands just yet.
