Search Option-Help Needed

Hello, I know this is a crazy and silly question, but how do you search boards so you won't ask the same questions that have been asked a zillion times?  I know some can get upset if you post and not look first so I am trying to avoid that.  Thanks for any help!  I appreciate it!

    Thank you so much, I really really appreciate it.  I thought it was just me, I kept typing things in and I kept getting an error.  Why don't they fix the search option????
