so some of you ladies might remember the LONG story of my ph.d. candidacy exam . . . this is the recap:
my candidacy exam was scheduled at the 38 week mark of my pregnancy; then because of placenta previa concerns they decided that they would almost definitely do a 37-week c-section so they told me to reschedule my exam. i rescheduled it and had to do it WAY to soon (not enough time to prepare), made some mistakes, and thought i had failed, even though i wouldn't get the official decision for another six weeks. the next day at the MFM's they decided not to do a c-section after all, so the re-scheduling was unnecessary. i cried. a lot. ![]()
well, six weeks went by, and when i got their decision it was actually a partial pass, and they just wanted me to repeat one part of the exam. i repeated about it a month ago, and then had to wait again to hear their decision. now it's final: I PASSED!!! i am officially a "ph.d. candidate"! no more hoops to jump through until i defend my dissertation. ![]()
thanks to all of you for cheering me on throughout all of this craziness!
