My son has been fighting me on drinking bottles. He is only drinking like 3 oz at a time, and it is taking me 30 minutes to get him to drink those 3 oz. I don't know what it going on. Took him to doctor and she said he doesn't want the bottle, and to give him milk in a cup. I am just wondering what is your feeding schedule and how much are your kids actually drinking? Thanks so much! Also, any tips for the sippy or straw cup? He doesn't seem to get it yet.

Starting tomorrow I have decided to make all of her 7oz bottles, 6oz bottles.
7:00 - 7oz bottle (she will drink about 5)
9:30 - 5oz bottle + oatmeal + fruit (I use 1oz to make her oatmeal, and she will usually leave an oz)
12:30 - 5oz bottle + fruit + vegetable (again, she will leave an oz)
4:00 - 7oz bottle
6:00 - oatmeal + vegetable + whatever we are eating
7:00 - 7oz bottle (1oz makes her oatmeal for dinner, so more like a 6oz)
I think she averages 21oz a day...sometimes a bit more or less.
My DD is 9.5 months. A typical day is:
6:30 am - 7 oz formula
9:00 am - breakfast
12:00 pm - lunch
3:00 pm - 7 oz formula
6:00 pm - dinner
8:00 pm - 7 oz formula
I feel like we are feeding her all day long but if we do formula and meal at the same time she doesn't eat much. Breakfast is usually cereal + fruit but she also eats pancakes and a lot of yogurt. Lunch and dinner depends on what we are eating. She eats about 1/2 table food and 1/2 baby food at this point. She would much rather feed herself so it is hard to get her to take all baby food for any meal.
When DD started not finishing her bottles we went from four 6 oz bottles to three 7 oz bottles and started using sippy cups instead. She is now doing great. When I first tried the sippy cup a month or so ago she hardly got anything out of it. Just keep trying!
Here's ours:
7am Breakfast (fruit and yogurt, w/ either eggs, waffles, bagel or toast)and a 3oz. bottle
10:30am 5oz.bottle
12:30pm Lunch (usually a fruit or veg, some kind of cheese, and a protein like tofu or deli turkey)
2:30pm 5 oz. bottle
5:00pm Dinner (leftovers of our dinner previous night, a sliced fruit or veg, a protein)
7pm Bedtime, 6 oz. bottle
So all in all, 3 meals, and 4 bottles. They will drink most of all those bottles.
7:00 cherrios and sippy cup
8:30 breakfast - yogurt/fruit or cereal/fruit or cereal/yogurt
9 bottle
11:30 lunch veggie/fruit/ some type of finger food.... cheese, oranges etc
12 botle
2-3 bottle
5 dinner veggie/fruit/table food
7 bottle
6/6:30am- bottle
8- breakfast (pancakes, waffles, toast, english muffins, eggs, nutrigrain bar, sometimes fruit purees because he generally refuses all fruits)
9:30- bottle/nap
11:30/12- lunch (pasta, grilled cheese, leftovers from previous night's dinner, sandwich cut into small squares)
2pm- bottle/nap
4pm- snack (animal crackers, ritz, graham crackers, anything really)
5:30- dinner (whatever we're having)
7:30- bedtime/bottle
He doesn't take a ton at each bottle- he only takes in about 16 oz a day, but he's a big boy, so the pedi isn't concerned.
