I got my bfp yesterday, and based on lmp I am 4 weeks and 1 day today. I took another test today, and sure enough I got another positive.
It just doesn't feel real yet. Maybe it's because my symptoms are only some slight cramping, peeing a bit more, and napping a bit. It was only our 3rd month TTC and I was mentally prepared for it to take up to a year, so I wonder if its cus I just didn't expect it to happen so soon. I'm going to try and get in with the doctor on Wednesday and go from there. I think I'll feel better once I have my first ultrasound and actually see and hear the heartbeat which I know I probably won't have for a few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy! We want this, I guess I'm scared to believe it until then.
So my question to you first tri ladies is, when did it start to feel real for you?
Re: When did it start to feel real for you?
I am in the same boat as you ladies...got my BFP on Thursday. We were not going to tell anyone until after out appointment, but I am really bad at secrets..I have only told a couple people but it seems like each time I do it feels a bit more real.
I kind of wish I had more symptoms as well...I don't feel very pregnant. Main thing is my boobs are KILLING me...I am sleeping in a sports bra at this point. I call tomorrow to make my appointment; hopefully I can get in sooner rather then later and get the ball rolling!
For me, it was real with the first digital that read Pregnant.
However, my symptoms would show up, disappear, show up, mild out, show up again, etc. So, be patient...when you're symptoms start doing crazy things on you, you might have to re-test JUST TO BE SURE like I did! (which is silly, but I couldn't help myself...the stupid extra test I had wasn't being used anyways)
But after the sonogram, (which some people get to hear a doppler of the heart beat before their sonogram, so I'll include that as well) it gets a lot more "real."

Seeing the baby's heartbeat at 7w4d made it real for me. Oh, and yesterday when my friend gave me her storage bins filled with maternity and baby clothes. It was like, "Oh yeah, in a few weeks I'm going to need what's in this bin and in a few months I'm going to need what's in that bin!"
I can't wait until I'm visibly pregnant, though. Now I just look like I don't miss a meal.

Yeah it doesn't feel real for me yet either. I just made my first appt for May 9th which I guess made it feel a little bit more real. But I still take a HPT every day to make sure the line is still there/getting darker which it is but eventually I will have to stop that and just believe that I am pregnant. Somehow I've convinced myself that one day the pregnancy is just going to go away and all those positive tests will have been false positives.
It does help that my boobs hurt so bad though because I never have had sore breasts in my life so its definitely something out of the ordinary and makes me "feel" pregnant. Maybe when m/s kicks in it will feel even more real to me lol
and after 82 days in the NICU, our little girl is home!
This. I have had 3 u/s and it still doesn't always feel real. I have had very mild symptoms so I don't 'feel' pregnant with m/s etc.

Thanks for sharing guys!
We told his parents and my mom last night. They were both very happy, but we explained that it's still early so we're not going to tell everyone until at least 12 weeks or so. That kinda helped make it feel like a reality. I've taken a test the last 3 days since I found out, the first two days the line looked the same and today it was darker so that felt nice.
I guess the hard part is I just moved to a small town and no longer have a family doctor. I'm going to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy with them and see if I can get my foot in the door to get someone. The woman that works in the walk in clinic when she's done at her practice, and actually delivered my niece and stepdaughter so I'm going to try to appeal to her. This is the only reason I'm going to a doctor so soon. All the family doctors are full up here.
Thanks again guys!
