I've decided to wander over and introduce myself, since I've been lurking here for about a week now....
Back story on me - I've been married to DH for 5.5 years, but with him for nearly 14 years. We're HS sweethearts trying for our first child. I'll be 30 in September. So, while I'm not at "advanced maternal" age, I'm no spring chicken either.
DH and I started TTC in October 2009, got our BFP on 1/1/10 only to learn at 16 week checkup that the baby had died two weeks earlier. A week later I was diagnosed as having had a partial molar pregnancy, which comes with it a risk of cancer. Monitoring HCG levels to zero (and staying there) is key to ensuring that the pregnancy cells were exiting my body and not metastasizing (which would require chemo). Felt quite relieved when I hit negative on June 1, but had to remain negative for 3 months to be out of the woods. We decided to start TTC again in September 2010, and have had 6 BFN's in that time frame, and varying cycle lengths, which is odd for me. Utilized Acupuncture in a few of those cycles.
So, I've got an appointment with my doc to discuss issues TTC, but not until May 17th. That'll give me one more cycle to try and to learn about what the process for figuring out if an issue exists is like. Although given the history of molar pregnancy, and just knowing how my doctor thinks, I think she may be a bit hesitant to begin any investigating because she probably would have liked me to wait another month or two before trying again, and I bet she thinks 30 isn't a concerning age. So, I'm toying with the idea of going straight to the RE, if my insurance covers it.
I will be honest, I'm not on any of the message boards all that much anymore. I tend to lurk more than participate right now, because participation was starting to encourage obsessive TTC habits. So, I may not be around all that much. But, I look forward to getting to know you!
Re: New to the board - my intro - long, sorry :-)
