Easter Egg Question (a stupid one)

When do you dye the eggs? And how long do they last?

I was thinking of doing them on Saturday (day before Easter) because that way I could use them for potato salad the next weekend. Would that work?

    Generally, hard-boiled eggs can last a week in the refrigerator. Even with its natural (but easily cracked) calcium-carbonate container, a hard-cooked egg is a perishable food, so it shouldn't be kept at room temperature for more than two hours.
