HELP whose LO never used sippy cups?

my DD will not take the sippy, i have 6 different types. She went the whole weekend without drinking untill I gave her a bottle late sunday night. BUT she does drink out of water bottles and cups. Any suggestions? Maybe I should just give her regular cups. She just turned 1 sat, or should I keep trying? I have put all the liquids she likes in it.

  • do those 6 types include straw cups? T started with straws at 6 months and never looked back! If she does drink out of regular cups, then I would use those when you can and just use the straw cups when you're out.

  • Try a shot glass.  We went boob to shot glass to glass (6 for $3 walmart ones).  They get straw sippies when we are out and about or plain water bottles.

  • Ditto pp, have you tried straw cups?  DD would never take a regular sippy cup.  She got the hang of straw cups around 8mos and took off from there.  That's pretty much all she's ever used until the last couple of months when we switched to open cups.

  • Ds refused to drink out of any sippy except the nuby straw cups.

  • My daughter never got the sippy cups.  We went from bottles to straw cups.  She liked the ones that they sell at TRU and they have Dora and other characters on them.  She could actually suck the liquid up.  There are some other straw cups that were very hard to get he liquid up.  Maybe the brand is Munchkin?

We also went right to small cups when we were at home.  I would give your child a little more time since they just turned 1.  My daughter didn't give up bottles until around 20 months.
