Home Phone??

We're moving and our cell service isn't that great at the new house.  Please recommend your telephone provider- we haven't had a home phone in YEARS!!!  I'm so confused about VOIP (and who is reliable) versus land line.

I think we'd go for VOIP because the cell phones work at the house, just not *great*.  I do understand if power/internet is out, the land line would be also.  Anything else???  Thanks!

Re: Home Phone??

  • We use Time Warner for our land line.  Another reason we have one is because there is a phone available to call 911 if cell phone batteries are dead, nanny forgets her cell phone, etc.

We have Vonage VOIP - I think because their song was stuck in my head when I was looking. I don't understand your comment about VOIP and cell phones? They aren't related - we use cordless phones with VoIP.

  • I second Time Warner for phone service. Even during all the storms the other day, we didn't have any problems. It was more of a bargain for us to get a home phone then cell phones when we realized we were paying $20 less for cable/phone/internet then TWO blackberry phones.
