Babies: 0 - 3 Months

DH took the "night shift" last night...

for the first time since DS was born, DH did all night feedings, and i dont think it went. i think that may be the last time that is going to happen. :( i hope DS learns to sleep longer shifts at night soon because i feel really refreashed since i only had to wake up once to pump.

Re: DH took the "night shift" last night...

  • It happened for us at about 6 weeks... when DS's tummy could hold more food.  He started taking 5-6 ozs and sleeping 5 - 6 hours.

He woke up this morning and took 7 ozs and went back to sleep.  He's 9.5 weeks old.  Some babies will do this-- sleep longer and eat more at a time. However, for us it's a tradeoff.  He STTN but will NOT sleep much from noon until somewhere between 7-9 pm.  He just wants to be held and played with during this time.  Translation... forget making dinner!  It's not going to happen.

  • My husband has to take the night when I am working. I work at 2am... when I'm home, our daughter sleeps 8-10 hours uninterrupted at night, but for some reason when i go to work, he is up with her a lot during the night!

  • Lucky you! I am jealous. My DH was camping with SS last night... I was all alone (sniffle sniffle). But I do all the nights anyways. DD is nowhere near STTN.
