NBR: Recommend your flat iron

I bought a Sedu flat iron off folica.com a couple of years ago.  A couple of weeks ago, it seemed to be a little bit loose around the hinge area.  It's now so loose that the plates don't line up anymore and it's really hard to use.

I sent an email to Folica customer service, but their website says that the Sedu warranty is 2 years.  I missed the two years by 5 days, boo.  But I think the flat iron should have lasted longer than 2 years, anyway!  Those suckers are expensive and I didn't mistreat or drop it, and it doesn't even get daily use.

So what flat iron would you recommend, because I think I'm going to end up having to buy a new one?

Re: NBR: Recommend your flat iron

  • I have had a CHI and GHD and hands down I LOVE my GHD.  I was able to get it at a little bit more than a CHI through my Hair Stylist.  I have had off brands before but I have to say it was well worth the money.

  • That's a bummer Katie!  I remember that we bought those at the same time and that it was just before Charlotte was born b/c my old one broke and I didn't want to have my baby with bad hair.  Hard to believe they are both about to turn 2.

Anyhow, I would buy a Sedu again.  I guess it depends on your hair type though.  I have also heard great things about the GHD mentioned and also Paul Mitchell flat irons.

  • GHD by far. It is the best I have found for my naturally very curly, frizzy hair. :)
  • I have a paul mitchell that is FAB.U.LOUS. I am not straightening my hair anymore so I was going to get rid of it anyway. message me on facebook or something if you are interested in preowned one.
