We put a t-shirt on DS that was personalized with his name and said "Big Brother." We picked up my parents for dinner and were just waiting for him to notice. I could've sworn my dad noticed because he was kind of looking down at him and then told him to take off his jacket. I thought he wanted my mom to see, but neither said anything.
Fast-forward to dinner - DS was sitting there, with his shirt in plain sight and my dad was even taking a few pictures of him with his phone! I thought he was taking a picture to show my mom or something to get her to notice. Nope. Finally, as we were finishing, my mom asked if I was done eating and then said, "Is his shirt supposed to mean something?" That was when my dad looked at it again and they both started grinning from ear to ear and confirming with me that I actually am pregnant again. I commented that it took them forever to notice and my mom said she noticed it when we sat down, but wasn't sure if it was bought with one of my earlier pregnancies. She said she didn't want to ask me about it and upset me before I ate my dinner, so she waited until I was done. I kept asking her, "Why would I put that on him if I wasn't pregnant??"
Anyway, they were just so excited. I think even more than when I first told them I was pregnant with DS - probably because they know what I've been through. I loved what my dad said: "Fantastic!!" He's not usually one to use words like that. It's an exciting year for my family, too - my sister is due very soon with her first and my brother is getting married.
I feel like I'm starting to get more excited now, like this baby is really happening.
Re: How we told my parents last night (DS mentioned)
That is wonderful!
I did the same with DD and DH's family. I swear it tok them like 30 minn. to figure it out. We had to beat around the bush to them..ugh But it was hilarious
Congrats!
