Fi plays poker online when he can't sleep (which is a lot), and put $10 into it about a month ago. Monday he mentioned to me that he was up to $400, and was all proud of himself. I told him he should take the majority of it out, and just leave a little, and start all over. Today he goes to take it out (he was up to $500) and there's a hugeass notice that the CEO of the company has been indicted on all kinds of charges. No money for him now!

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no knowledge on this at all, but...
An old college aquaintance of mine posted something on facebook yesterday about how her online poker funds were inaccessible, because of something about the gov't trying to make online poker illegal gambling. ???
So maybe this has something to do with it? Either way, hope your hubs can get his money sometime!
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
It's illegal to use real money to gamble on poker websites in the US. But these companies aren't run here, and they have loophole after loophole to make it possible. But the guy who runs the top three poker companies has been defrauding banks in some really large way, so who knows how it will turn out!

The illegal part is that US banks are not allowed to distribute funds from online gambling sites. The sites got around it by using third party processors, so the banks were "fooled" into thinking they were distributing funds to people for online stores and the like.
My husband is a full-time poker player and has about $30K in winnings tied up on Full Tilt, PokerStars and other sites. We're trying to figure out how we can get his money out because damn, this sucks. The sites have reassured us that his money is safe (they won't wipe his account to $0 or anything), but I still would like the money to be in our bank accounts since the sites suspended all play for US-based players.
Ironically, DC legalized online gambling on Friday for the district only. But the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is still the Federal law. The big point of contention is that poker is game of skill and not true gambling so it shouldn't be included in this act. I wouldn't have believed this before my DH started playing. It does take skill and not just luck to win at poker.
The even more ironic part? We pay taxes on his winnings, like good American citizens. So him not being able to play or withdraw his money is essentially like him being laid off from a job with no severance. If this doesn't turn around, our only option is to either set up residency in another country and withdraw the money or ask one of our european friends to withdraw the money for us.
Basically, the government is mad that they haven't gotten their cut. Hopefully it gets settled soon.
