How do you deal with another birthday going by still not KU? Does the "1-year-older" mark effect you? Am I the only one with milestone issues?

Last night, we had our friends over. Including a 6mo, 2-16mo, 18mo, 2-3yr, & 4yr olds. Usually this makes me appreciate the quite in my house more than usual. Last night they were adorable, they were not screaming and crying like normal. The 3 oldest sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Ugh!

Maybe it is b/c I have 1w left in the 2ww Hmm but for some reason 32 is hitting me a little harder than any other b-day.

I was pretty upset this past birthday that I wasn't KU. Even though we'd only been trying for 3 1/2 months at that point, I'd always pictured myself being at least pregnant by 25. Its relatively young, but I just always thought it would work out that way. Reality loves to slap us in the face though. Feel better.

It's definitely not just you - I remember two birthdays ago (when I turned 30) - I said to myself - I will def be KU by my next birthday. Well, my 31st came and went in January and guess what - I wasn't KU yet either. So I'm serious when I say - I better be pregnant by my next birthday - or I may seriously lose my mind!!!!!!!!

(((hugs))) Yes, certain milestones like my birthday or a TTC anniversary feel like a hard punch in the gut. I hope some day in the very near future those milestones will take on a new, happy meaning for you.

Conceived on/around my 36th birthday, and lost our baby 13 weeks later. I am obsessing about the 37 milestone every day, too.

My birthday is next month and MH turns 30 in July. I certainly thought we'd have a baby by the time MH turned 30. Now I'm just hoping to get KU by then. July is also the month we go to see the RE for the first time. ::sigh::

I'm sorry, I agree, birthdays and anniversaries definately make you feel sad about ttc. I'm 30 and thought I'd have a kid or two by then, but nope, still not there yet.

My past one didn't bother me, but we had been trying 7 months then and I wasn't as discouraged yet. If I'm not KU by the time my 30th rolls around in October, I'm sure I will be devastated. It will have been over a year and a half, AND I'll no longer be a 20-something. I always pictured having kids in my mid-20s, and I am holding out hope that I will at least be able to be pregnant for a few months in my 20s!.

Try to enjoy it - I hope you have a VERY happy birthday!

I figured someone on here would understand how I am feeling & have been feeling for the past week. DH's b-day is the end of May, so if this cycle is not the one, maybe the next 2 will be *crosses fingers & prays* For right now I am working on curing these blues with Dog the Bounty Hunter Big Smile

I'm so sorry- I totally understand. I just turned 30 & I think I somehow knew amid my 2ww that we weren't KU'd b/c last week SUCKED. I dealt with it by crying from Sunday until pretty much yesterday. I looked like death on my birthday.

It was so hard this time, for me, b/c I was really struggling with both trying & doing what we can do for our part and really trying to accept that we are not being punnished by God or being made to wait for some unknown reason and all the while not trying to 'strike a deal' where I'll be ok having gone through so much if we just get KU'd by ____. I am really working on this, but with something so personal and important between MH and I, it's hard to not take it hard. I wish I had some real comfort to offer you but just hugs & understanding.

I'm turning 30 in a couple of weeks, and I thought for sure we'd have a baby by now. To add insult to injury, my b-day is May 7, so the day before Mother's Day. I don't know how to feel just yet. I'm hoping I can have a great b-day and not be down in the dumps about IF.

30 was really hard for me. I know 32 will be hard for me this year too if I'm not KU because my chemical pg would of been due around my 32nd birthday.

The 2-year mark for us TTC will be next month. After the first year and nothing, I was hoping that through testing we could find the "reason" and correct it. With no diagnosis except "unexplained infertility", this approaching 2-year mark has me wondering how many more I will have to go through. I try to remain optimistic but it goes in spurts. Sometimes I tell myself that it is going to happen and other days reality sets in that maybe it will not ever.
