We got to bring Avery home today! We had been told it would be a 2-4 week stay after surgery, and yesterday marked one week. She did so well and was off oxygen as of Thursday night, so she was ready to go. I got to nurse her for the first time yesterday, and she latched right on and based on the LC's weights, she took in more than the recommended minimum for her for a feeding. I am so committed to nursing, and I was afraid it wouldn't happen because she couldn't do it right away.
Now my nerves set in about actually being a mom to two kids. You'd think that would have occurred to me already, huh?
For a yucky situation, this has definitely worked out in the best way possible. I really believe prayers make a difference. I'll post pictures soon on FB. Thanks for your prayers and support!
Re: Miss A is home!
I can't even explain how happy I am to hear this news, G! I bet it feels wonderful to be in your own home with her!
I hope A continues to nurse like a champ too!

That is such wonderful news! Sounds like she is already proving the doctors wrong, in a good way
I'm so happy she is home and doing well. I hope things continue to improve and life is just wonderful for your new family of four.
