We are getting ready for Kayden's physical therapy screening on Monday. She has done well on her previous appointments and dr. visits, so we are not expecting any problems/ obstacles. I just feel so uneasy about this next appointment.
Please share any of your PT screening experiences with me. TIA
Re: PT Screening
We've had a couple of PT evals - when he was a newborn and again at 2 yrs adjusted (the other day). Basically someone will come to your house (if it's through the state EI program) and just do a quick series of checks. It's pretty quick and easy and Andrew didn't mind.
After they told us how he scored against his adjusted age (and now that he's older against his actual age) and whether he would qualify for PT.
With his first screening there were no real concerns as he was acting at his adjusted age. With this screening, they were able to detect muscle tone issues and walk issues (requiring ankle braces) that the pedi is not trained to identify. With his 2nd eval, he was falling behind though, so there was reason to suspect something was going on prior to the eval.
Good luck!
