Anyone taken a vacation to Kelleys Island/Lake Erie/Sandusky area? We are trying to come up with a cheap family vacation this summer to a beach. Macy is obsessed with the idea of playing in the sand and "going to the beach". We are planning a big Disney vacation for next spring after I graduate (in December...woowho!) so we definitely don't want to spend a ton on a vacation this summer. I did a little research this afternoon online and it sounds like there are some nice beaches on Lake Erie. Sometimes internet pictures can be deceiving though, so I thought I'd see if anyone has any real life experience or suggestions, haha. TIA!

We have vacationed for long weekends in Sandusky many times. In fact, I did it twice while I was in your program. We did Cedar Point, Put in Bay, and did lighthouse tours. It's a nice little getaway, and we are thinking we may try to do it again this summer. Even the beach at Cedar Point looks like a beach with sand and mini waves, shore birds, etc. I really like the area around Marblehead Lighthouse. They have lots of house rentals in that area. Honestly, you have to look for something with beachfront in the area, as a lot of the waterfront has rocky areas, but the sandy beach areas are nice. We always stayed in Sandusky, because CP was our main draw to the area. There is a Great Wolf Lodge with indoor waterpark, and CP also has an indoor waterpark hotel on their grounds. Have fun. There is a lot to see up there.
How is school going for you? You are almost there. I remember the summer flying by in a flash, and it gets so much easier once classes are done. Hope the tight job market hasn't been a hurdle for you. Congrats!
Thanks! That's really helpful and makes me feel better
Do you think it would be worth it to hit up CP with a 2.5 year old? We weren't sure if she would get enough out of it to make the ticket price worth while.
School is going. Definitely ready to be done and senioritis is in full swing! I'm hoping you are right and the last few months fly by! Luckily I'm good with a job but feel for most of my friends who are struggling! It is a tight market and hopefully things are turning around soon! I hope your job search is going well and you find something that makes you happy soon!

Worth it IMO. They have a HUGE kiddie area with tons of rides. DS was too big for the kiddie area, but it was impressive. Snoopy is everywhere there. Their firework show was very nice, too. If you like roller coasters, it's the place to go. You would have to take turns riding, but they have the best. It's just fun!
I have some work leads. Where I am now is hard to leave, but necessary unless things change quickly. I am going in on Monday and asking for a straight 8 hour shift. I can't keep doing 10-12+ all the time. I am simply missing too much of DD's young life. It's worth the pay cut, and puts me at what everyone else in the city makes anyway. It buys me time to shop around. The market will be opening up soon when those who wanted to retire finally do, now that their retirement accounts have recouped the losses. I know where to look and have friends all over the city who feed me leads. It will be fine.
