My kids like both. The one in DC has a lot more variety and that's where most of the space stuff is. It's a lot more crowded. The one in Dulles is really big and open. They have a lot of the airplanes there which my kids think is neat. They also have a tower that is supposed to be like an air traffic control tower and you can see a lot from up there. We've gone when it's pretty empty and they could run around some (please don't judge me! )

i think the one in dc is really kid-oriented; i never plan to go there myself again without a kdi. the one out at dulles is fine for kids but also interesting for adults.

Re: air and space museums- DC or Dulles?
we live closer to the one at Dulles, plenty of parking and free entry. parking is $$$ but free after 4:30.
DC one is a hassle for us b/c we'd have to drive to the metro and then metro in
Dulles is a gigantic airplane hanger. we loved it because with the little one it was great to go with little people.
DC is more educational and has more "stuff"
