Hi ladies,
I usually post on TN but had a BR question so thought I'd pop over here. Friends of ours just had a baby. We probably won't be visiting them for a couple weeks, but I feel like we should bring something. What did you want/need a few weeks after you came home w/ the baby? I know the usual, like meals, diapers/wipes, etc, but is there anything that no one brought that you would've really liked? Or something different that was really great?
TIA!
Re: Visiting a 1st time mom
After a couple weeks, they are probably squared away on meals - unless you actually BRING food to make dinner or lunch, etc. You know what would be nice at that point - is maybe bringing something cute/comfy for the mom to wear - like a cute hoodie or cardigan or cute flips flops/earrings, etc. something simple/everyday, but cute and not "mom" related. Also - maybe like a bath product - like a nice soap or scrub, etc. just a little something "nice" to inject into her day.
And, of course a regular present for the baby.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
I agree with this- I got an edible arrangement and having a healthy snack I could eat while nursing was amazing.
I agree with bringing dinner with you too. I had a friend bring pizza with her and my stepmom brought a home cooked meal in toss away containers. Both were great.

Yes to all this
esp the food!
Thanks for the great suggestions! We (ok me more so than DH) definitely feel comfortable babysitting/watching the baby for awhile, so I think we'll do that, but throw in some other stuff too.
