Recommend your bottles...

I registered for and received Playtex Ventaire bottles.  Since I'm EPing, I'm already using them.  If I give the BM to him in a Medela bottle he does just fine, but if it's in the Playtex bottle, then he ends up spitting back out the majority of what he's eating and therefore needs a feeding again sooner than normal.

DH and I decided we need to look for some new bottles.  What bottles are working for you?

  • we have/received the Born Free and the Dr. Browns... I like them both... I will say that the Dr. Brown ones are alot more work to clean

  • I had the playtex ventairs, dr browns, medelas, etc...for DD#1. The b est BEST kind for us was the cheapie Gerber/Evenflo bottles and cheapie nipples. I would try those for sure!!

  • We used Playtex drop ins with #1 and are using them again with #2, we've never had any problems with them.  We use the Target brand liners instead of the playtex ones.
  • We were also using the Ventaire bottles and DS was spitting up like crazy. We switched to the Playtex drop in ones and it has gotten so much better. It allows us to get the air out and it helps with the spit up.

  • We use dr brown's bottles and she does great. they are a lot more work to clean but since she's never had a problem with colic or even spitting up (no joke, not even one time), i think they're totally worth it. i would hook up my medela pump directly to the dr brown's bottles instead of the bottles that came with it and it worked great. to be fair, i've not tried a different bottle so i have no real comparison, but i'm sure there are other good bottles out there.

  • So far I have only used the cheapie Gerber bottles and the Wal-Mart brand Parent's Choice. The Parent's choice bottles/nipples work GREAT for our LO, and will be all I buy from now on. I found the Gerber nipples flow too fast for her and she ends up making a bigger mess with those.
