I've gotten positives early and have no twins (10DPO last time, 11DPO this time). I can't speak for this pregnancy because I wouldn't know that yet, but I know a lot of people who got positives early and only have singletons. I don't think an early positive is an indicator at all. Not saying it's not possible, but I don't think an early positive result is related to multiples. I think higher counts on blood tests could possibly indicate multiples-but not necessarily on a HPT.

Im doing my 2nd b/w today to check the beta levels. I got my BFP at 3w2d. All the week by week guides saying I wouldnt even know Im pregnant yet.
I got a BFP at 9 DPO, and was actually only 19 days pregnant at the time (because I ovulated only 10 days after the start of my cycle). It's too early to tell if I am carrying twins or not, but I seriously doubt it (twins don't run in my family and I am not on fertility treatments).
No- you can get a + HPT within days of implantation regardless of the number of babies you have in there. Both times I have been pregnant, I found out at 7 dpo.
I've done a lot of research lately into beta values and the values for multiples increase faster. According to betabase.info the median HCG value for a twin pregnancy at 10DPO is 31, while a singleton is only 16. Most HPTs have a sensitivity of 25 to produce a positive.
With that said, women can produce tons of hormones and have a singleton, or have low hormone levels and have multiples. Nothing is really a good indicator of multiples besides seeing them on U/S. HTH.
no but your Beta/HCG numbers could clue in so if you got an early bfp it could equal a higher HCG which could be twins. I am hoping not because I had a pretty high beta today and don't need twins!
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasured day you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart...let me hold you while I may."
no. your beta levels would increase at a very fast rate though signaling your OBGYN to conduct a sono. How early did you get your BFP?

I had my positive at 3w2days. I only transferred 1 embryo...I know it could have split but I'm relatively sure it's just one baby.

I don't know anything about twins, but I did read recently that girls create higher hormone levels, possibly leading to an earlier positive test. I don't know if this is true or not, maybe we can do a poll when Dec. mamas start finding out the sex. DPO in relation to babies sex, might be interesting.
Sounds like you got your BFP the same time as I did (9DPO and confirmed with a digi at 10DPO). I don't know about this having anything to do with twins but I'd be SO excited if it did! With DD1 I got a BFP the day AF was due, with DD2 I didn't get one till 8-9 wks and with DD3 till 9ish weeks. Maybe you'll get your wish =0)
Hmm not sure. I got mine at 8DPO this time using afternoon pee. I just had a feeling... I got my + last time at 11DPO and it was a singleton. I sure hope this is not twins. I couldn't handle 4 kids!
ETA: Confirmed pregnant with digital, FRER and the blue dye test which only has a sensitivity of 40 for HCG on day 9 & 10. The Digital was 25ml I think. Anyway, that says I had over 40ml (not sure if that's the correct measurement) in my urine at 9DPO which does seem high.
ive been looking into this alot myself. i tested positive super early (6dpo) if you go by what all the calendars say, i should have barely been implanting then, and shouldnt even have had any hgc levels (you dont start creating that hormone until after implantation) by 8dpo my levels were at 31 and by 18dpo (4 weeks 3 days) they were 3000..i have convinced myself i got more than one in there. lol
Re: any relation to early + test and twins/multiples?

I wouldnt mind them. Twins run in my family.

Hopefully it implanted in your uterus but I don't think 8dpo is extremely early for a BFP (if I figured that out right).
