Growth Charts

The recent post about 4-month stats and different percentiles reminded me of this article: https://www.babble.com/baby/baby-feeding-nutrition/breastfed-baby-growth-chart-weight/

It talks about the different growth charts and how breastfed and formula fed babies gain weight at different rates.

Re: Growth Charts

  • I can understand the point of the article, BF babies gain weight differently because the caloric supply is variable.  But my 19 lb 27 inch not quite 4 month old is EBF and he is off the charts on any given chart.  If he keeps growing the way he has been, I'm going to have to get myself a weight lifting belt just to pick him up everyday.

  • Thanks for posting this! My EBF baby is in the 50th %tile on the WHO chart and has been since birth. At the pedi's he's consistently under the 5th.
