  Thanks Daisy! Its going to be a very emotional trip for me. My dad's parents both grew up in Holland during WWII and I have heard about it all my life. I can't believe its only a week away now. I'm so so so excited!!

  Oh, I am jealous! It is so, so beautiful there.

  Things to do: 

  -see the tulips if they're in bloom

  -bicycle around and see the windmills

  -walk/bike along the canals of amsterdam, or take a boat ride, and admire the architecture

  -tasting at the heineken brewery

  -van gogh museum

  -I did a diamond tour at one of the distributors but can't remember which one -- this was pretty interesting if you're into sparkly things.
  

   

  You may also want to warn them that "coffee shops" sell not only coffee but also weed. Also space cakes look like waffles but are hallucinogenic. Maybe your parents are into that but it would majorly freak mine out!

  Have a great time!  I was there a long time ago (only in Amsterdam), but a few things I really enjoyed

  - walking along the canals - beautiful!

  - Heineken brewery

  - tour of Anne Frank's house

  - comedy show called Boom Chicago (loved it!) - I was living in Europe at the time, and this was a comedy show put on by Americans about being in Europe.  I thought it was hilarious, but if you're only there for a short time, it might not be the best, I don't know.

  One thing to note - be really careful about where you take pictures.  My friend and I were talking pictures by a canal and this creepy guy ran up to us and was yelling and tried to take our camera.  Turns out he was a pimp and his "girls" were sort of nearby (we didn't even see them) but he thought we were taking their picture.  Um creepy.  Watch out for that!

  It will be beautiful there this time of year!!!  Lucky them!

  I don't have any specific things to add to pp's responses, but the Anne Frank House is an absolute do not miss.  I've been twice, and it always makes me bawl... but it's so amazing.

  Also, this is random, but I had THE BEST sandwich of my entire life somewhere down the street from the AFH.  It was veggies and cheese... I don't know the name of the place, but I DREAM about that sandwich.
