Play date question/help? X/P

I'm taking DD to a play date tomorrow with another baby from her daycare. I don't really know the family, but we've been emailing.

What's the etiquette on play dates? Is there something I should bring for them to play with or expect it to all be there (it's at their house)? Also - do I bring a gift or something for them since they are hosting? I don't want to be rude. And, if so - what do you suggest bringing?

  • Wine.

J/k  I've hosted many playdates and no one has ever brought anything.  I don't think its necessary.  However if someone had brought me cookies, I wouldn't be sad. :)

  • When we do playdates it's usually with just one other Mom and baby. If we go to their house I bring coffee and donuts because its usually in the morning.

  • Oh dear...I just usually show up with the baby!  I think I offered to bring stuff once or twice, but each time the mom in question had everything taken care of.

    I should start hosting playdates.

  • It's a good gesture to always bring something to someone's house. I was brought up on that.
